Quick and easy steps to limit replies to your Twitter posts, so that no account or only certain accounts can reply

For each individual tweet, Twitter has added a new tool that enables you to restrict replies to only individuals you follow or only persons you specifically name in the tweet.

This function is helpful if you want to restrict the alerts you receive or if you simply don’t want the onslaught of criticism or suggestions that you anticipate a certain tweet would bring. More control over your interactions with online communities is now possible.

All of us have been there. As soon as you type and press “Tweet,” you immediately regret not closing your replies.

How to limit Twitter replies to your tweets

Both the Twitter desktop website and the mobile app provide an identical approach for limiting your tweet replies.

1. Type your tweet. You’ll notice a globe icon next to the phrase “Everyone can reply” beneath your writing. To access the limit settings, tap the text or that icon.

2. A “Who can reply?” list will appear. Choose from the available options the one that most appeals to you (“Everyone,” “People you follow,” or “Only people you mention”).
