The Realme 8i phone appears to be stunning at first glance. The phone is made of glass on the front, plastic on the frame, and plastic on the rear. The phone’s back has a gloss coating that makes it look more spectacular, but you’ll have to contend with fingerprints. The phone is 8.5mm thick, weighs 194 kilos, and is very pleasant to hold.

For further security, the Realme 8i incorporates a face lock and fingerprint sensor in addition to the standard pin code. The fingerprint sensor is located on the phone’s side and is extremely fast. The face unlock system is also quick and entertaining to use.

The phone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 1,080*2,412 pixels and a peak brightness of 600 nits. Swiping through the phone is exceptionally smooth thanks to the phone’s high refresh rate of 120Hz, and it also saves battery power according to the phone’s six refresh rates. A touch sampling rate of 180Hz is also available on the phone. A smartphone with a huge screen and a smooth touch experience is a great combination. The phone also features a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8 percent, which means the user will be able to see more of the screen.

Camera

On the back of the Realme 8i, there is an AI triple camera arrangement. The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with a 2MP macro, 2MP depth sensor, and an LED flash. Both the front and rear cameras can record videos in 1080p.

For its class, the camera’s photographs are quite impressive. The photographs appear to be crisp and clear. Even the selfies are impressive. Slo-mo, time-lapse, movie, pro mode, panorama mode, ultra macro mode, night mode, and dual-video mode are just a few of the camera’s amazing capabilities. A 50MP camera is also available, allowing you to take images with a higher resolution. A higher resolution entails a larger amount of area.

The Realme 8i’s night mode and dual-video mode are unquestionably its features. The dual-video mode makes it simple to take footage from both the front and back end. This is very exciting because you can capture both the view and your reaction at the same time.

Similarly, the phone’s night mode is enthralling. With night mode turned on, you can take decent photos even in low light. Another interesting feature of the Realme 8i camera is that it features a panorama mode on the front camera that can snap a wide-angle photo for you.

Battery life and performance

Realme 8i is powered by Android 11 and comes with Realme UI 2.0 on top. The phone is powered by a Mediatek Helio G96 chipset, with Mali-G57 MC2 handling the graphics. The phone runs smoothly, and moving between apps is simple and painless.

We opened and used more than ten apps at the same time, and switching between them was usually seamless. The transition between apps was relatively seamless. We also put various games to the test, and to our surprise, they ran smoothly.

Verdict

Realme has released yet another high-performing smartphone. It competes directly with the Redmi 10 Prime and the Samsung F22. However, the phone comes with a 120Hz display, triple AI camera, large battery backup, rapid charging, and a beautiful display for only Rs 23,799! This is a somewhat uncommon combo for smartphones in this price range.

It also has some unique features that make this smartphone enjoyable to use. The phone’s user interface is fluid; the camera quality is equally excellent; the battery is long-lasting, and the processor is also improved. The phone is both pleasant to hold and attractive to look at. The phone has a glossy appearance that makes it stand out.

If you don’t have a case, you’ll have to clean your fingerprints off the rear of the phone on a regular basis. This should not be an issue if you use a cover. In addition, the screen lacks Gorilla Glass protection. This could be a problem for Realme because Mi offers Gorilla Glass protection on their smartphone in a similar price range.

On the phone, there are some pre-installed apps as well as some Realme apps. The advertisements from those apps can be irritating. Aside from that, the Realme 8i is likely to be one of the best smartphones for under Rs 25,000.
